  • Nicole Clawson

    VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE & REVENUE CYCLE

    Nicole Clawson is responsible for the Revenue Cycle division within Pennsylvania Mountains Healthcare Alliance (PMHA) as well as finance for PMHA  Nicole has over 25 years of experience in revenue cycle operations and financial leadership.  She has grown the divisions to include overall revenue cycle shared service management, chargemaster/revenue integrity, contract management, and revenue cycle system management and optimization.  She focuses on creating efficiencies in revenue cycle with technology, standardization, and process improvement. She leads 5 of its member hospitals fully engaged in receiving the full front to back-end revenue cycle services in cash acceleration, reduction in denials and reductions in AR and bad debt while focusing on overall strategy and development. 

    Nicole received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Utica in Health Information Administration and a master’s degree from St. Bonaventure University in business administration with a concentration in finance.  She holds certifications as a CPC (certified professional coder) and RHIA (registered health information administrator). She currently serves in elected positions with FinThrive on their advisory board for advancements in revenue cycle technology and with ACDIS on their ACDIS Leadership Council (23-24) which helps shape clinical documentation strategy and advance opportunities in clinical documentation improvements. 

  • Greg Snyder

    VICE PRESIDENT TECHNOLOGY

    Greg has served in engineering, project management, supervision, consulting and senior leadership roles over his 39+ year career. He has served as PMHA's VP of Technology for the last 15 years. Family time, traveling, and building things are his favorite things.

  • Stephen R. Hovan

    DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE BILLING

    Stephen is the Director of Billing for Pennsylvania Mountain Health Alliance. His role encompasses working with and assisting the POD hospitals in developing efficient, effective, and compliant processes collaboratively in the Revenue Cycle's billing, collections, bad debt, customer service, and denial management functions. His data analytic approach to solving challenges while focusing on crucial metrics is where he thrives.

    With 34 years of managing the revenue cycle, Mr. Hovan has served in various roles, from Biller to VP. His billing experience spans from small rural to sizeable multi-urban healthcare establishments. Stephen received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree specializing in Finance and Economics from Clarion University and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

    Stephen, his Wife Sherry, and three teenagers currently reside in Warren, PA, where Most of his time is spent with his kids. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf when he has time. His love for the Tennessee Vols is evident, but he also enjoys watching his Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins play.

  • Susan Pierce

    DIRECTOR REVENUE CYCLE - PHYSICIAN PRACTICE

    Susan Pierce has 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  Her work history ranges from large teaching hospitals to small rural, community hospitals.  Her experience includes Health Information Management as well as Revenue Cycle.  Susan’s role includes working with physician practices to develop and maintain efficient workflows that collaborate to support the revenue cycle’s coding, billing, collections, bad debt, customer service and denial management functions.  Susan is dedicated to compliance, efficient operations and providing her teams with the tools they need to do the best job that they can do daily. 

    Susan received her bachelor's degree from Penn State University in Health Policy and Administration and a master’s degree from Duquesne University in Health Management Systems.  She is also certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC).

  • Matt Beck

    DIRECTOR CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

    Matthew Beck is the Director of Contracting and Payer Relations for Pennsylvania Mountains Healthcare Alliance.  Matthew is responsible for negotiating payer contracts, maintaining payer relationships, and ensuring payers adhere to all aspects of their contractual obligations. 

     Matthew received his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport in Sport Management and Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Buffalo with a concentration in Finance.   

  • Deb Mumper

    DIRECTOR OF PATIENT ACCESS SERVICES

    Deb Mumper, Director of Patient Access Services at Pennsylvania Mountains Healthcare Alliance, has over 30 years of experience in Revenue Cycle in community hospitals. Her expertise includes Financial Counseling and Financial Clearance, Scheduling and Preregistration, and Patient Registration. Deb is dedicated to data quality, providing tools and education to Patient Access teams, standardizing processes, and creating efficiencies for the front end of Revenue Cycle while collaborating with team members to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of healthcare reimbursement.

  • Sarah Ewell

    DIRECTOR HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

    Sarah Ewell is the Director of Health Information Management and oversees the Charge Master. She attended Alfred State College for her associate degree in Health Information Management and obtained her RHIT and CCS certifications. She started her career in coding at Olean General Hospital and worked her way up to becoming the Manager of Health Information Management overseeing four hospitals, before becoming the director for PMHA. She has 13 years of experience in Revenue Cycle.

  • Joe DeSimone

    DIRECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

    Joe DeSimone is PMHA’s Director of Business Development and Customer Experience. Joe joined PMHA in 2008 and has remained committed to helping PMHA hospitals make the most of their PMHA membership. A native of Pittsburgh, PA and graduate of Penn State, Joe brings more than 20 years of experience in implementation, training, support, and customer service to the team and is happy to speak with anyone at any time about PMHA. Joe lives with his wife and kids in Philipsburg, PA and in his spare time can be found at his kids’ sporting events or playing the guitar.
